Mental Health Services - Youth - Roanoke, Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare

Offers services to children and adolescents under age eighteen experiencing problems and disruption in their home, school, or community due to emotional disturbance and/or substance abuse. Provides treatment to support optimal functioning and to maintain the child in the community and/or least restrictive environment. Services include individual, family, and group counseling, play and expressive art therapies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, case management, crisis intervention, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and discharge planning from state and private mental hospitals with linkage to community services. Substance Use-Inpatient Treatment - Salem, Inpatient Residential Rehabilitation, Mount Regis Center

Each patient in this rehab program has an individualized addiction recovery plan. This may include all or some of the following: Group therapy, addiction education, individual therapy, group process, family therapy and twelve steps. Certified addiction counselors, nurses and physicians conduct drug and alcohol recovery therapy sessions. Staff nutritionist can work with patient on an individual basis. Individual addiction recovery programs may also involve fitness program; fitness class at a local gym three times per week; this is part of the holistic approach to recovery from addiction, mind, body, spirit.

Rapid Access provides a comprehensive assessment to individuals seeking Behavioral Health services. Individuals are seen on a first come, first serve basis during Rapid Access hours and serves children, adolescents, and adults. Following an assessment, individuals may be referred to recommended community resources or scheduled for an appointment with a case manager or clinician depending on the individual’s specific needs.
