Crisis Intervention - Roanoke, Carilion Clinic

CONNECT is a 24-hour, confidential, referral and assessment service staffed by psychiatric nurses and clinical social workers. These teams are trained to help people needing psychiatric and behavioral medicine support. 1. CONNECT services begin with one toll-free phone call to (800) 284-8898, for an initial assessment. 2. A counselor meets and talks with individuals privately and at length to learn more about their difficulties. Therapy or treatment does not occur at this times simply a way to assess the situation. When necessary, CONNECT will contact a psychiatrist to admit to the hospital. * CONNECT can perform assessments at a physician's office, emergency room or other location that is convenient and safe for the individual, when needed. * CONNECT accepts referrals from physicians.
