Volunteers in the Foster Grandparents Program (FGP) are role models and mentors to children who need additional support. The program provides a way for volunteers - age 55 and over - to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities.

Volunteers conduct independent investigations, submit reports and recommendations to the court and monitor the child's case to assure services are provided and court orders are being followed. Provides trained and screened volunteers matched to persons with visual impairments requesting assistance with reading, shopping, recording material onto tape at mutually agreeable hours. Adult volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application with reference checks and participate in an orientation session.
