Early Childhood Initiative - Richmond, Family Lifeline

Family Lifeline's Early Childhood Initiative offers three models of early childhood home visitation: Healthy Families, Children's Health Involving Parents (CHIP), and Parents As Teachers. We work in partnership with parents to offer health education and parenting guidance to pregnant persons and families with young children. Provides intensive in-home family support services for at-risk first-time parents, beginning prenatal and continuing until the child is five years of age. Families participate voluntarily in the program and receive home visiting and referrals from trained staff. The program has three goals: to promote positive parenting, to encourage child health and development, and to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Parenting - Wise, Wise County and the City of Norton Health Department

BLOOMS: Care navigation from maternal and child health specialists who can connect with other health department and community resources as well as provide guidance and education. Baby Care: Education and case management services provided by a registered nurse to pregnant women and infants up to 2 years of age who are Medicaid eligible. Resource Mothers: A special mentoring program for first time pregnant or parenting teens. Teens will receive education about taking care of themselves and their infants up to one year of age. Teens will benefit from assistance with setting educational goals, accessing healthcare, and planning for the future care of their infant. Car Seat Program: Free, new car seats, including infant convertible seats and booster seats for older children, are available to families who qualify. Parents must attend a short instructional session to learn the correct placement and use of the car seat or booster seat.
