Licensed Child Day Center: Day Camp and Before & After School Care

Provides after school care to children ages 5-18 throughout the school year.

The Out of School Time program blends recreation activities such as sports, arts and crafts, games, fitness, music and dance, with programs that focus on nutrition, health, reading, math, life skills and character building. Dinner is provided by the United States Department of Agriculture under the guidelines of the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Provide programs like before and After-School Child Care, Day Camps, Swimming and Swim Lessons, Family Activities, Sports for adults and children, Health and Exercise, and specialty programs for teens and older adults.

YWCA Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virgina is partnered with Ballad Health Systems to operate the Child Development Center on the campus of the Bristol Regional Medical Center. It was designed to serve the children of Ballad healthcare workers, however, additional openings are often available to parents in need of extended-hour child care within our community.

YMCA Before- and After-School Child Care is designed for children in kindergarten through middle school. Programs complement and enhance formal education, and provide learning opportunities that build relationships, develop character and inspire discovery to help foster your child's academic success.

*After-school- Pre K- 12th grade (3PM-5PM) After-school students are divided by grade level with four classes and 2 teachers in most classes. Pre-K - 1, 2nd -3rd, 4th - 5th, and Middle School classes participate in nutrition, Christian Education, help with homework, and recreation each afternoon. *Summer Program for all ages (9AM-NOON,NOON-3:00PM)

Second Story operates neighborhood-based drop-in centers and after-school programs, including a Teen Center, for youth and families in Culmore, Annandale, and Springfield. Through these programs, we offer food distribution; tutoring for students; parenting skills, health, and financial literacy education; the opportunity to connect with existing resources; and more.

Offers before and after school, break and summer programming concurrent with Virginia Beach City Public School schedules at designated elementary and middle schools, as well as Virginia Beach Community Recreation Centers. Agape Early Learning Center is a faith-based program that operates 12 months per year. Enrollment is open to the general public, serving children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Services Provided: preschool, infant care, before-school and after-school care, part-time and drop-in care.

Preschool classes are offered for 2 year olds, 3 year olds, and 4 year olds. Provide Monday through Friday classes for all age groups. In addition, a Tuesday/Thursday class is offered for 2 year olds and a Monday/Wednesday/Friday class for 3 year olds. We offer two sessions of programming: the school year (September - June) and summer camp (June - August) After school care is offered for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade who attend Chittum Elementary, Western Branch Primary, and Western Branch Intermediate. Public school Kindergarten care is available before school (7:00-7:30 am) and after school (2:45-6:00 pm). Kindergarten care is not available during public school hours.

After-school program for children in grades K-12. Provides tutoring, homework assistance, music lessons, field trips, parent education and a reading enrichment program. Teachers, counselors and volunteer tutors work with each child daily. Individual and family counseling is available on-site through a partnership with Family Service of Roanoke Valley. Volunteer mentors from community churches, businesses and civic organizations provide support, friendship and act as positive role models to enrolled children.

RHCDC offers Preschool for children ages three through Pre-K and After-School Care, Summer Camp and Drop-In Care programs for school age students in the cities of Roanoke and Salem, Roanoke County and local private schools.
