Fairfax Connector operates a 283-bus fleet which provides public bus service on 85 routes throughout Fairfax County, from Lorton, Richmond Highway and Springfield on the southern end, to Vienna and Tysons Corner, to Reston, Herndon and Dulles International Airport in the northwestern part of the county, to Chantilly, Centreville and the Fairfax County Government Center in the central part of the county. Buses connect with Metrorail, Virginia Railway Express, Amtrak, and regional bus service at multi-modal facilities throughout the county.

Williamsburg Area Transit Authority (WATA) operates paratransit services focusing on curb-to-curb transportation for persons with disabilities who are unable to use the fixed route system.
